Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the most common and well known type of massage in the West and from which other types of massage have derived. If it is your first time having a massage or you do not get a massage that often it is the best place to start. The Swedish body massage involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on the topmost layers of muscles. During this session I will work with the soft tissues and muscles in the body to help restore balance and health.

The end result will be a relaxation all of the muscles in your body to release any pain &/or tension that may exist.


A Swedish body massage the perfect way for anyone who is over worked and stressed out to relax their body and mind. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energising.

Before a massage, you would have a consultation and we would discuss any old or new injuries or any other conditions that I should know about, such as allergies, areas of tightness or pain, or pregnancy. We will also discuss what preference for pressure your prefer. I would also check this throughout the treatment and encourage you to let me know if the pressure is too hard or too light. I  would first apply oil or wax and carry out various massages strokes., such as effleurage which is a smooth, gliding stroke used on soft tissue. Petrissage, the squeezing, rolling, and or kneading that follows effleurage, Friction, which are deep, circular movement that cause layers of tissue to rub against each other, helping to increase blood flow and break down scar tissue, and tapotement, a short, alternating  tap done with cupped hands, fingers, or the edge of the hand. Theses movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle ‘knots” or adhered tissues, called adhesions.

Improves blood circulation and blood flow throughout the body.

Helps to keep ligaments and tendons supple and improves rage of motion.

Reduces emotional and physical stress
Eases back pain and other areas where chronic pain is evident.

Aids better sleep by reducing stress.

If having full body you will be asked to undress to bra and knickers. If you are having a back neck and shoulder massage, I will need to get to your lower back so loose bottoms if you want to keep your bottoms on. Towels and sheets will be used at all times to maintain your modesty.
